6 Days 5 Nights Golfing & Sightseeing trip to Kunming, Yunnan

8 – 13 May 2016

The long awaited SSGS Kunming trip took flight with 33 of our members and we arrived Kunming according to schedule.

Except for the first day where we visited the 'Sleeping Buddha Hills' also known as the Western Hills (西山龙门), the rest of the trip evolved around golfing activities. We played four and a half games, two in Kunming city followed with a break mid-way with a complimentary 9 holes at the Lake Course in Spring City before playing the final two rounds in Spring City’s Lake and Mountain Course. The two courses at Hotspring Golf Club and the Lakeview were equal to standards worthy of our visit.

The courses were in excellent condition with greens running from 10-12 on the Stimpmeter scale. We were assisted and counselled by knowledgeable caddies throughout our games.
Beside the own expense meals, the members were treated to three meals hosted by GolfHub, Spring City Golf & Lake Resort and SSGS.

We had 5 days of glorious weather hovering around 25°C despite forecasted rain for two days. The scenery was great. But most of all, I was heartened by the enthusiasm, spirit of camaraderie and friendship among our members which made this trip memorable.

Finally it leaves me to thank all members for their support and understanding during the trip. Everyone was cooperative and helpful in making the trip an unforgettable event. If there have been any oversight, please feel free to send your feedback.

On a closing note, I will echo Uncle Pang’s call for members to support our events and bring in new members to help sustain our non-profit organization for many more years to come.
